August Assoc. Meeting & Wednesday Flying

First of all, the August Association meeting is coming up next week- Wednesday August 6 at 6:00 PM. Be there or be square!

This evening was the weekly get-together at the field, and as usual we had a good time. The guys flew combat wings again. Usually, there's a lot of chaotic buzzing and zipping around as pilots attempt unsuccessfully to score a hit- but this time, there was a hit so hard we could hear the whack!

Guess who hit whom?
Mike Unger flew several practice runs with his Mostro 700 helicopter. He will be competing in the upcoming AMA Nats in Muncie, Indiana. Good Luck Mike- your flights are looking good!

And, something a bit different for the war bird crowd- an electric P-38 cruised over the field several times this evening. Dick correctly pointed out that P-38's are supposed to have landing gear (this one is a belly-lander), and that firing guns would have been cooler.

More pictures from tonight and other days can be found under the photos tab of the website. Last, but certainly not least, we welcomed another new member, Jim Landenburg to the Flying Association this evening.

If you are looking for a safe place to fly, and friendly people that share your interest in model aircraft, contact us by filling out the form on the JOIN tab of this web site, and we'll set you up with a membership.

Wednesday Flying

Fantastic weather for flying this evening and a good turnout for our weekly Wednesday club get together. A diverse variety of aircraft took to the air, including glow planes, a gasser, combat wings, electric trainers, and a glow-powered helicopter!

A Dry, Windy Sunday

A few of our members came out to the field today. The wind was gusting across the field, making landing an interesting feat, and the lack of rain and hot temperatures has turned the grass to a crispy brown. That's bad for the grass, but great for foam airplanes.

Summer is fading fast- get out and fly while you can!
