THIS IS TOUGH!

The object of the game is to move the red block
around without getting hit by the blue blocks or
touching the black walls.

If you can go longer than 18 seconds you are phenomenal. It's been said that the US Air Force

uses this for fighter pilots. They are expected to
go for at least 2 minutes.

Dear MRFA Members

MRFA has been confronted with the thought of the need to move to a new location for some time now. Re-orientation of our existing runway has now been officially ruled out by the EPA and development around our site is on the increase and is assured to continue in the future. Only recently has any kind of a time frame been attached/ imposed upon us. Although this is not a guarantee, we may be looking at a possible 3 to 5 year max time frame for the property we currently use.

Over the last two years MRFA has investigated and projected the cost of re-locating. It is anticipated that such an undertaking might possibly cost between $5,000 to $7,000 dollars for grading, seeding, drainage, driveway etc  ( not including inflation ). Using this information and the 3 to 5 year window provided on our current field,  a level of a ten dollar increase would fall far short of the funding necessary to make a successful relocation.

Comparing what MRFA dues are currently, against other local clubs revealed that MRFA is below the average dues level.  After much deliberation of the members in attendance of last night’s meeting, we confirmed the need to raise the annual dues for the club and it was put into the form of a motion.

The motion posed is for a $25 dollar increase in active membership and in family membership.  Junior membership dues will remain @ $10 a year.  Senior membership dues will remain at 50% of the active dues level as stated in the MRFA by-laws.  ALL OF THE INCREASE IS TO BE EAR MARKED IN A SEPARATE “FIELD FUND”. Dues for the 2006 calendar year, can be paid in two (2)  $25 installments.  The first being currently due and the second installment after July 1 to reduce any hardship that might be imposed by the clubs actions.

Motion passed unanimously with the 12 members present and 6 proxy votes in favor

FAILURE TO COMPLY WITH THE SECOND PAYMENT WILL RESULT IN A STATUS CHANGE OF YOUR MEMBERSHIP TO AN UNPAID MEMBER OF MRFA.  Invoices will be sent for the 2nd installment July1. Lump sum payment of $50 will be accepted if that is your desire.  Only 6 members have paid the 2006 dues to date.  Four of these have agreed make up the balance of payment as per motion. Remaining shall be contacted.

Said field fund can not be tapped for the operating expenses of the club for events etc. and shall remain in said field fund until such time it is needed for relocation.   Should MRFA’s flying site needs be met by some philanthropic landowner, it will then be up to the membership to decide the best course of action with the funds in the treasury.
